We created this company to be family-owned, family-operated, and family-driven. That made picking a name pretty easy. We stand behind and fight for the things we believe in. We believe in hard work. We believe in putting a lot of thought into our work beforehand and taking a lot of pride in it long after it’s finished. We believe that if we treat people well and focus on our clients in everything that we do, then we will have a successful business for years to come.
We're just a classic father-son duo. Father's a builder, son is a businessman. Together, along with a lot of help from our agent and vendor partners, we strive to create amazing homes, happy clients, and lasting memories.

John has been contracting and building since he was 18. Nobody knows how old he is now, but he’s built a few thousand homes and remodeled or improved a few thousand more. After 30+ years, he still loves every minute of it. He’s exactly the person you want building your home. His system for building homes is battle tested. Subcontractors love working with him. He’s not afraid to grab his tool belt and go get the job done. Combining his knowledge, high motor, and high standards, John builds incredible homes that always close on schedule.

He was named a 2017 Rising Star by Triangle Real Producer Magazine and named to the 2018 Triangle Realtors Leadership Academy. A large part of Matt’s work with Family Building Company is determining what to build and where to build it, as well as sales and marketing. Matt's success comes from his integrity and ambition.
